In 2021, Lambda Legal won two landmark victories securing social security benefits for same-sex couples whose claims were previously denied because their relationships were not recognized under the law. Join us for a discussion led by Brian Richardson, Midwest Director of Lambda on these historic wins, how they are changing the lives of individuals and the LGBTQ community at large, and the current state of Social Security.

Brian will be joined by guest speaker David Freitag, CLU®, ChFC®, CRPC®. An industry veteran in financial services and wealth management, David brings a deep passion and unparalleled knowledge of Social Security filing strategies and retirement income planning. David will take a deeper dive into Social Security and Medicare including Various Claiming Strategies and Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset. 

After the program, stay for a cocktail reception including an open bar and tasty treats from local LGBTQ chefs.
